Life is Art

I love art so when I wandered upon this little gem, The ArtLot, I was sooo elated and I absolutely had to take pics of course! The ArtLot is located in the arts district of Avondale Estates. I’ve always known about Avondale, but I actually learned about the arts district when my son was performing with his high school jazz band at the Avondale Towne Cinema during an art stroll. This stroll is an annual event held by the city of Avondale called the Rail Arts District (RAD) Studio Cruise.

The RAD Studio Cruise serves to bring attention to the local art studios and eateries that span the Rail district. The ArtLot is actually a pop-up art park similar to a pop-up shop which means its temporary *insert sad face*. It was created by the local artists as a meeting area and a place for live performances in an effort to revitalize downtown Avondale.

Avondale is a great community that has always been near and dear to me as my children attended elementary and then high school there. The area is vintagey with lots to see from the unique homes to the thrift stores and the sidewalk-lined streets make it very walkable. I encourage you to take a stroll and to be seemingly transported to another place and time.
